While the Manchester Derby is this weekend in the Premier League, there are other games with much better betting value. Let’s get right into it.
Southampton ML vs Aston Villa (+115) DRAW NO BET
Ralph Hassenhuttl has done an incredible job with Southampton in the Premier League this season, and they’re in formidable form. Che Adams and Armando Broja have been so good up top, Oriel Romeu and James Ward-Prowse have bossed the midfield, and Kyle Walker-Peters and Romain Perraud have been on fire in the full-back positions.
Southampton has only lost 1 out of their last 13 games in all competitions and they had a great 3-1 win today against West Ham in the FA Cup.
The home team, Aston Villa, have been inconsistent under Steven Gerrard, yet they are favorited at -145 in the draw no bet market.
Before an impressive 2-0 triumph over Brighton this past weekend, Villa were winless in three Premier League games against Watford, Newcastle, and Leeds. All teams fighting for survival.
I can see this one ending in a draw, which would result in you getting your money back, but I also can see Southampton winning like they have done these past few months in a smooth fashion.
Newcastle vs Brighton Under 2.5 Goals (-140)
Seven of Newcastle’s last eight games in all competitions have gone under 2.5 goals.
They’ve been able to revamp their defense after the January transfer window, and the improvements have been dramatic.
Another statistic that makes me love this bet, is the fact that in Brighton’s 26 Premier League games this season, an average of 2.11 total goals have been scored each one. This is the second-lowest in the league, only behind Wolves.
This represents that Brighton has not only been great defensively this season, but they’ve struggled offensively as well.
They are scoreless in their last 3 Premier League games, and Graham Potter can’t seem to get much going.
Newcastle will still be without Allan St. Maximan, their biggest attacking threat, another detail that is crucial here.
I would be very surprised if this mid-table clash is action-packed, which makes me love the under.
Brentford ML vs Norwich (+160)
Brentford has been in very shaky form recently, yet they have an opportunity to gain three crucial points this weekend against the team that sits at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Norwich is currently 20th in the Premier League, while Brentford is in 15th with seven more points and an extra game played compared to the Canaries.
Both teams are winless in their last five games; however, I believe Brentford will be able to end that streak while extending Norwich’s.
A win for Brentford would also end a two-game win streak for Norwich over them.
We’ve seen Brentford play very well earlier this season, and I believe that sense of urgency will return for Thomas Frank and his side.
They are not far from ensuring safety in the Premier League next season, and a few more wins to close out the season would go a long way.
It’s a massive opportunity for them to get three points, and we may even see Christian Eriksen make his full debut for Frank.
